Malik Taylor, aka Phife Dawg of A Tribe Called Quest, died today. Passed away at 45. Whenever you hear about something like this, it’s a bit out of the blue. And I don’t want to be a Debbie Downer, but if feels like tons of people are dropping like flies all around me, family included, so it’s a bit hard for me to just pass it off without wanting to say some things. Here’s some crap from an unimportant, non-influential like myself. Continue reading Scholar and gentleman, Phife Dawg, passes away at 45

Marvel subpeonas Google for details on Age of Ultron trailer leaker
There’s this movie coming out next year called Avengers: Age of Ultron. You might have heard about it. If you haven’t, then being un-American is a problem you should seriously have someone look into. Being the sequel to the first Avengers movie, Age of Ultron has the pleasure of being pretty high on every comic book fan’s bucket list until mid-2015. That being said, the spotlight lately hasn’t been on the movie itself, but the trailer. And that has led to what I can only describe as dumb people being so dumb. The OS would have been completely managed by Google, including updates, while the rest of the industry would be responsible for providing premium hardware. A specific set of guidelines would be set in place to be followed in order to qualify for the program, while companies would be provided with R&D support and monetary compensation. Sounds like a Googlefan’s wet dream doesn’t it? Continue reading Is the Android Silver program already dead?

Mad Max makes a return in Fury Road sequel
Earlier today at Comic-Con, the latest chapter in the Mad Max series of movies was revealed. The movie is being called Mad Max: Fury Road, and will be directed by series creator George Miller. Also, as no surprise to me, it will be starring Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron, with Tom Hardy taking over the leading role of Mad Max. Mel Gibson will be busy trying not to be nuts. Marvel announces a new female Thor
There’s a new Thor in town, and even if you’ve got a guess as to who it might be, it’s still not probably what you’re expecting. And the announcement was made on The View of all places. The important thing to wonder about is what exactly happened? Apparently Thor did something to piss Mjolnir off, enough for the hammer to deem him no longer worthy and run off to find a new owner. Series writer Jason Aaron claims it’s just that. Don’t expect any twists or loop holes. Continue reading Marvel announces a new female Thor
